When you are ready, hold the control together as you  remove the tywrap - NO FURTHER DISASSEMBLY IS REQUIRED. Proceed to install it with the mounting hardware.

Take Control,  It's YOUr ride

Above is the Gen 3 assembly. The two “cut-aways” below are:  the throttle tube on the left without "the parts" (clutch plate, index wheel, or adjuster wheel); and on the right is an inside view of a Control with a typical internal adjuster (again, without the clutch plate, index wheel, etc.).

When you receive the unit, everything is preset. There will be a tywrap holding the unit together. However, you will need to set the internal adjuster for YOUR bike.

To install it, first review the YouTube installation demo using the link in the picture below left.

Also, left is a cut-away of the internal adjuster

Install Help:

The below scenarios are commonly seen during initial installation — easy fixes …..

Condition #1: I installed it - the throttle is really hard to turn.

Answer: The internal adjuster needs adjustment. Remove the mounting bolt and screw the internal adjuster “out” or “towards the throttle tube” (in the “cut-a-way” picture of the Throttle Control body above, to the “left”) - move it a little at a time, maybe an 1/8 turn. Remount the control and check it again. This process may take a couple tries to get the correct position of the internal adjuster.

Condition #2: I installed it - I can’t get the index wheel to hold the throttle in one spot.

Answer: The internal adjuster needs adjustment. Remove the mounting bolt and screw the internal adjuster “in” or “away from the throttle tube” (in “cut-a-way” picture of the Throttle Control body above, to the “right”) - move it a little at a time, maybe an 1/8 turn. Remount the control and check it again. This process may take a couple tries to get the correct position of the internal adjuster.

To adjust the internal adjuster, you need to place “some” end pressure on the throttle tube—the amount is set by screwing the threaded internal adjuster in or out (“left” or “right” in the below drawings) depending on your actual bike (see also adjuster picture below).
